The Dating Pact

922912547d6e7c6b7eac36cff48f6738Recently, I wrote about how dating apps can make you feel like you’re dating… when all you’re doing is scanning pictures and having conversations that legit lead nowhere.

Before I wrote the post, I had a conversation with my roommate C about how logging onto Tinder or Hinge (or countless other dating apps) is so easy, but actually getting up the guts – and putting in the minimal effort – to meet someone for a drink can be really hard to do.

And so we decided we would keep each other accountable for getting out there by creating The Dating Pact. And now, I invite you to join us (and possibly win a prize!)

The rules are simple:

-We’re going to try this for a month, starting on Monday, September 8.

-You go on one date each week. (We’re going to try to go out on the same night in the East Village so we can rescue each other if it goes badly or he shows up and is 5’6″.)

-If you like him and want to go out again, you can – but you must also go on another date with someone new the following week.

Here’s why we’re going to possibly juggle multiple men: most women instantly stop dating the second they meet someone they (think they) like. But most men keep on going on dates and seeing (and even sleeping with) several women until they’re ready to commit to one, or just sleep with one. By seeing more than one guy at a time, you keep your expectations and priorities in check, and hopefully, stop obsessing about where the relationship is going… before you even figure out if you’re actually interested or not. (I’m guilty of this, trust me).

So if you’d like to follow the three rules and join The Dating Pactsign your name here! Each month, one lucky winner will receive a surprise prize pack of dating essentials… for the next month when you participate in the pact, again. You’ll have a chance every month to join – as long as you re-sign the pact!

Cheers to getting offline and out in the world going on actual dates!

  4. See which clubs are lame and know where you should not waste your time.

Whatever the case, they still remain and it is your task to bring them back
to the forefront of his mind again. Regardless of what’s going on, never give him the chooice between you and his
    kids.
